    1. Objectives
      1. Objectives are the intended outcome(s) for each section of this code.
    2. Standards
      1. Standards describe the mandatory specific actions required to achieve acceptable levels of animal welfare and successful wildlife rehabilitation. These are the minimum standards that must be met. They can be identified in the text by the heading ‘Standards’ and the use of the word ‘must’.
    3. Guidelines
      1. Guidelines describe agreed best practice based on scientific information, accumulated experience and consultation. A guideline is usually a higher standard of care than minimum standards, except where the standard is best practice. Guidelines are identified in the text by the heading ‘Guidelines’ and the use of the word ‘should'.
